First Letter from the MTC August 20, 2011

Dear Family:

'Kumusta po kayo?' This week the internet is down at the MTC. My p-day is on Friday. Elder Dalton from our stake is in my zone and Elder Ziggler is too. Elder Ziggler is doing great and leaves in 2 weeks, crazy. These past few days have been awesome. My teacher is Brother Hyde and he speaks only in Tagalog. He also uses lots of hand gestures. I love this class. Yesterday, we taught our first "investigator". The only problem is all we know are greetings and simple questions like, 'ano po ong pangulan niny?' Which means, what is your name? So it was interesting... Later that day we learned to say prayers and bear our testimony in Tagalog. We teach again today, it should be better.

My companion is Elder Miller from Hawaii/Orem, Utah. My room mates, who are in my district, are Elder Swapp and Elder Roberts, both from Utah. Elder Roberts is the district leader. Other than us four, our district includes 4 sisters, Sister Hanson from Utah, Sister Tatafu from New Zealand, Sister Ofa from Tonga, and Sister Tibeki from a small island by Tonga. My zone leaders are pretty cool. Life in the MTC is awesome.

There is a lot to study and learn, but I can feel my testimony grow. I know this is where I need to be. I know that Jesus is the Christ and He atoned for our sins. I know that by staying focused, I will be able to bear my testimony easier in Tagalog.

Anyway, that's all for today. I hope life is going well and that you had a good week with Lindsay and Ethan. I look forward to hearing from you and reading both letters. I love you lots. love, Elder Woolf
